Research Interest:

My research interests are in cross-cultural surveys and measurement error in data collection with racial/ethnic minorities.

Current Research/Work:

Currently, I am working with Dr. Sunghee Lee and Dr. Fred Conrad on improving the validity of the Satisfaction with Life Scale through scale balancing using data from a diverse set of respondents. Dr. Fred Conrad and I are also working on an article where we investigate whether probing in cognitive interviews can promote acquiescence.

More information about me:

I am currently a PhD student here at MPSDS. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Sociology from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) where I worked as a teaching assistant and a research assistant. While at UTEP, we published several articles on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, we looked at racial/ethnic disparities in food insecurity, food insecurity in households with children, and vaccine hesitancy. I also spent time volunteering at food pantries during the pandemic and volunteering at an immigrant advocacy center that provided legal representation to low-income immigrants during the Trump administration.
