The University of Michigan Program in Survey and Data Science (MPSDS) offers graduate programs at the master’s and doctoral levels. The MS and PhD graduate programs prepare students for careers in academic and private survey research firms, government agencies, and corporations.

As an upper-level undergraduate student interested in Survey and Data Science, MPSDS offers synchronous virtual graduate training. The Pathways program introduces social science research methods in general, its link to survey and data science, and research projects in the Institute for Social Research (ISR). Let our faculty share their excitement about survey and data science as a research field and career path.

Professionals of Survey and Data Science who are looking to expand their knowledge of the field and state-of-the-art practice and theory may want to consider attending the annual Summer Institute in Survey Research Techniques. Multi-week virtual courses are offered from June through August.

As STEM programs, MPSDS approaches learning and development that integrates the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Through STEM, students ranging from undergraduate to professions, develop key skills including: problem solving and creativity.
