Shifan Feng is a master’s student in the Survey and Data Science program at the University of Michigan (2025–2027), with a background in accounting and quantitative analytics. She holds a B.B.A. in Accounting with a minor in Maths from Baruch College, CUNY, and a dual degree from Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE), China.
At the Institute for Social Research, Shifan serves as a Research Assistant on the PSID 2023 Remote Saliva Collection Study, building reproducible R pipelines that apply GEE, propensity score matching, and survival analysis to model face-to-face contact effects on respondent behavior; her work has contributed to a co-authored manuscript submitted and presented at the Panel Survey Methodology Workshop. She was a Data Analyst Intern (Marketing) at Rocket Mortgage, where she designs A/B testing frameworks and marketing performance dashboards using SQL, R, and AWS Athena.
Shifan’s technical toolkit spans SQL, Python, R, and Power BI/Tableau. She plans to pursue a career in data analytics following graduation in May 2027.
