Ellen Hickman is a first year master’s student in the Michigan Program in Survey and Data Science, with an emphasis in the Social Sciences. She focuses on questionnaire design and applied sampling of global surveys to produce data for international development.

Ellen currently works at the International Research Hub as a graduate research assistant, where she supports the administrative operations of large-scale international survey collaborations (eg. World Mental Health Consortium). Prior to joining MPSDS, Ellen managed the implementation of business-level surveys in Southeast Asia as a survey researcher (eg. Thailand and Cambodia). She received her Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Sociology (Concentration in Analysis and Research), as well as a certificate in Southeast Asian Studies from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. On campus, Ellen is an active member of the Survey Methodology Lab and volunteers with STATCOM (Statistics in the Community). After graduation, she looks forward to furthering her career in global survey methods.
