The CDC utilizes Direct/Expedited Hire Authorities to fill vacancies in a variety of occupations. This vacancy is a REPOSITORY of applications. Duties and responsibilities vary and may increase according to the grade level of the position. This public notice will be used to fill the positions listed below at multiple grade levels and locations.
Statistician: Grades GS-11 through GS-15
Applicant Expiration: Applications will expire 4 months after submission/resubmission. To remain eligible for consideration, reapplying is required.
Duties may include but are not limited to:
Serving as a recognized expert and advisor in the application of statistical applications for complex and diverse public health use cases.
Providing expert analysis and data interpretation to a broad range of data users, including both expert and lay users of complex public health data sets.
Consulting with epidemiologists, statisticians, computer scientists, and public health professionals concerning ongoing and established studies.
Assisting in the preparation of comprehensive reports that include discussion of substantive issues related to methodology for public health surveillance and related applications, assessment of the adequacy and quality of data used in the analyses, and explanation of the methods, results, and relevance to the health issue under study.
