More information about me:
Shifan Feng is a first year master student in Survey and Data Science at the University of Michigan, specializing in Statistics. Shifan bridges the gap between commercial accounting and advanced analytics, holding a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Baruch College and a dual degree from Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE). Currently, she serves as a Data Analyst (Research Assistant) at the Institute for Social Research (ISR), where she constructs integrated analytic datasets for large-scale operational projects. Shifan is skilled in developing reproducible R and Python pipelines to clean and harmonize complex longitudinal data, ensuring data integrity for downstream statistical modeling.
Prior to her graduate studies, Shifan gained significant professional impact at Elliquence as an accounting data analyst, where she independently managed a full-cycle duty drawback project that recovered over $422,000 in duties by optimizing internal database structures. Her technical toolkit includes SQL, Python, R, and Tableau, which she utilizes to transform raw data into actionable business insights. Beyond her analytical rigor, Shifan is an ACE Certified Group Fitness Instructor working at the Michigan Recreation at the University of Michigan, a “fun fact” that highlights her ability to communicate and lead with energy in fast-paced environments. Upon graduation in April 2027, she plans to pursue a career as a Data Analyst, leveraging her multidisciplinary background to drive data-driven strategies in the technology or financial sectors.
