Wen Chen is a first-year student in the MPSDS program. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Sociology from the University of Minnesota, paired with a minor in Statistics. During working as a research assistant at the Minnesota Population Center, Wen acquired hands-on experience processing educational and biometric survey data, along with kinship information. In her undergraduate thesis, she designed a survey grounded in social network theories to analyze international students’ job-search endeavors in the U.S. Currently, Wen is engrossed in leveraging surveys to craft high-quality primary data. She hopes to collaborate with more researchers to foster a future rich in insightful and reliable data.
