Fundamentals of Computing and Data Display
This course will introduce students to the theory of how people process and display information using modern software, with an emphasis on the principles of reproducible research; the focus on the theory behind these techniques will be supplemented by practical applications; topics will include: Software packages for data management and analysis; development of simulation studies; Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) / visualization tools; data management, databases, data processing algorithms, and database manipulation / record linkage; Latex vs. Powerpoint; principles of displaying data.
